Post Event Massage – Woodlands April 22, 2017

We feel very fortunate that we have been asked to host the Post-Event Massage area for the 2017 Ironman North American Championship. This is a huge undertaking and we will need between 35-50 therapists on Saturday April 22, 2017 starting at 3:00 pm going through to about midnight.

We feel very strongly that all therapists in attendance have the basic and necessary training for working with athletes post event.

So if you are a therapist and are interested in working this amazing event here is what we are offering to you.


Thursday April 20, 2017, 5:00-8:00 pm onsite training (in the Woodlands) in Post-Event massage. This will be a 3 hour TDSHS approved CE course. Your cost is $35.

Saturday you will be scheduled for a minimum of 3 hours of supervised Post-Event Massage at the finish line working on the athletes as they finish their race. You will receive your $35 back and receive an additional 3 hours of CE for your participation.

In addition to receiving your original $35 you will also receive $40 in payment at the end of your 3 hour shift. It is entirely possible that you could receive more based on tips and other forms of income generation. All participants will receive a t-shirt, food and drink during their shift.

OPTION #2 – Saturday is still open

Is the same as option #1 with the exception of the training. The onsite training will take place from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday 4/22/17 before the race. You will then work a preassigned shift with the same payment criteria stated above.

Can I make MORE MONEY?

We have started on online massage scheduling service for Sunday morning. The awards ceremony takes place Sunday afternoon. Based on previous experience athletes will want to receive massage on Sunday. Based on the number of pre-booked massages we have, you may volunteer for the paid services on Sunday morning. You will receive $45/hr plus shared tips per :50 massage on Sunday morning. We will make decisions about the number of therapists needed as massages are booked.

Equipment and Supplies

You will be required to bring your own massage table. A fitted plastic sheet, water based lubricant, 20-30 hand towels and wash cloths. We will provide the hand sanitizer and the alcohol for cleaning tables.
